Special devices & test stations
Hama-desigend measuring systems for comprehensive product testing
We use measuring systems and test stations of our own design to ensure that our products meet our myriad quality requirements. These stations combine systems developed in house with devices from well-known manufacturers. This allows us to perform comprehensive tests to ensure that our products are functioning properly.

We develop our own devices
Our in-house QA department develops custom devices that are used to test our products. For example, the test bench for bags and the test bench for wall brackets were both developed by our QA team.
There are also measuring stations that we designed ourselves and have equipped with a wide range of measuring and testing instruments. This is how our energy efficiency measuring station (ErP) was created, for example. Our measuring stations incorporate devices from well-known manufacturers such as Zimmer, Rohde & Schwarz and Tektronix.

FORM & COLOUR
FORM & COLOUR
RUBBING FASTNESS
This test examines whether colour rubs off from the products. The product, for example a mobile phone case, is rubbed against a standard material. If the colour does not rub off, we can be sure that the case’s colour will not rub off onto other objects.
COOLING & HEATING CABINETS
These cabinets allow us to test our products under extremely hot or cold conditions and to perform material tests in exceptional temperature ranges.
UV TEST CABINET
In this test, plastics are exposed to increased UV radiation. One side of the product is covered and the other is irradiated with UV light for over 96 hours. This UV light is significantly stronger than sunlight and therefore allows us to simulate the effect of sun exposure over multiple years in a short amount of time.

PARAMETER TEST STATION
This test station is designed to measure the voltage of HDMI cables and cables that meet the USB 3.0 standard.
PRELIMINARY EMC TEST STATION
The EMC test station lets us measure the causes and effects of stray radiation emitted from our products up to the GHz range.
BATTERY TESTER
This test measures parameters such as the switch-off parameters of protection circuits.
HIGH-VOLTAGE TEST
In this test, relevant products are tested under high voltage to ensure that they meet the guaranteed limit values.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY TEST STATION
This station is used to test the energy efficiency and standby power of power supply units.

INCANDESCENT WIRE TEST
This station tests the flammability of plastics. Products such as power supply units or power strips are exposed to an incandescent wire at 500° C. The plastic may melt when it touches the wire, but it must not catch fire.
RVA TESTING DEVICE
This high-quality measuring instrument allows us to detect heavy metals and harmful substances in a product.
ACOUSTIC MEASURING STATION
This station is used to conduct a comprehensive noise test. A standard input signal is fed to the headphones and then the output signal is measured. This measurement ensures that when the terminal device’s volume is set to the maximum, the volume in the headphones is not high enough to cause hearing damage.
X-RAY FLUORESCENCE MEASURING DEVICE
The X-ray fluorescence measuring device is used to detect heavy metals.
RoHS MEASURING DEVICE
The RoHS measurement is performed to check solder joints for lead.

MECHANICAL TEST
COMPRESSION AND TENSION TESTING DEVICE
The compression and tension testing device is used to simulate the repeated opening and closing of tablet portfolios, for example.
HARDNESS TESTER
This device is used to test the properties of a material, for example the hardness of the cutting implements in a cutting machine. This test is also used to examine the material properties of SAT brackets and wall brackets.
TEST BENCH FOR BAGS
This device is a one-of-a-kind creation from our tool workshop. Bags are laden with weights and made to swing with constant motion. This is intended to simulate carrying of the bag over its entire life cycle.
TEST BENCH FOR WALL BRACKETS
Our wall brackets are tested from top to bottom using both a dynamic and a static test. For the static test, the wall brackets are laden with 3 times the specified weight. The dynamic test simulates rotation of the wall bracket. In this test, loads are repeatedly applied to and removed from the wall brackets. This test bench was also created specially by our employees.
